The Practical Woodsman is a way to share love of the wilderness, as well as my observations, thinking, and approach to what folks today are calling 'bushcraft' and 'survival'. The focus is on what is practical, as well as pointing out certain things being demonstrated by 'bushcrafters' today that are not practical at all.

An old pond I used to sneak out to for fishin’ from the time I was about 16 until just a few years ago. Because I was one of the very few people to know about it, the bass bred unbothered, and grew into monsters.
I can’t go there anymore. Commercial expansion has destroyed it. The forest is all chopped down now and the land is owned by a car sales lot.

What is your theory? I don't have a dog in the hunt about this, but I was just wondering with 30 or more Bigfoot sightings every year how come no one ever bags one? That is the one thing that makes me doubt. I read the sightings which are full of tales of people fleeing in terror, but almost no one ever opens fire. What do you guys think?
