Folks, I’m preparing for a big outing in the wilderness that I’ve been looking to for some time, and it has been taking up a lot of my attention. Some of you might remember that I had big plans for something similar last year around this same time, but I came down sick and had to cancel at the last minute.

I appreciate your understanding if I disappear from our group for a few days. It’s just a part of who I am, I have to get real time alone in the woods, divorced from all of modern life. I consider it personal time spent with God - like Moses going up the mountain for forty days.

Well, I won’t be gone for 40 days, but I might drop off suddenly for a few. If that happens, know I’m wrastling bears and snakes and getting smelly and dirty, but I’ll be back to talk about it in no time.

(I plan to make lye from my campfire and then soap with it from my bacon grease! In addition to that, I have a lot of other interesting projects and meals planned, as well as a never-before-used shelter and my miniature wood stove.)
