The Practical Woodsman is a way to share love of the wilderness, as well as my observations, thinking, and approach to what folks today are calling 'bushcraft' and 'survival'. The focus is on what is practical, as well as pointing out certain things being demonstrated by 'bushcrafters' today that are not practical at all.

Roughing it
I went on a little camping trip this weekend. Nothing that’ll win me any Woodsman-of-the-Year awards, but I had fun and got to socialize. Got to try out some comfort gear that I’ll be sharing as the week gets on. I hope you folks are doing good out there!

In my opinion so much of a question like this depends on what other luxuries you’re taking. Taking this lantern usually means foregoing some other luxury.
