The Practical Woodsman is a way to share love of the wilderness, as well as my observations, thinking, and approach to what folks today are calling 'bushcraft' and 'survival'. The focus is on what is practical, as well as pointing out certain things being demonstrated by 'bushcrafters' today that are not practical at all.

These sorts of things always crack me up because, although they look great - they really create a beautiful picture - they are clearly created by people who spend no time in nature whatsoever. Can you imagine the flies and crow-sized skeeters that would be eating you alive right next to the water like that at dusk??

I'm going to NY state salmon fishing on Sunday. My buddy that organized the trip called me this morning to tell me the air B&Bs are sold out and asked if I'm ok with "primitive" camping. It was a delight to tell him what I do for fun. Anyway hopefully I get some cool pictures or video for y'all.
