The Practical Woodsman
Education • Travel • Preparedness
The Practical Woodsman is a way to share love of the wilderness, as well as my observations, thinking, and approach to what folks today are calling 'bushcraft' and 'survival'. The focus is on what is practical, as well as pointing out certain things being demonstrated by 'bushcrafters' today that are not practical at all.

Eye Issues

Tell ya what, folks… I’m having a heck of a week. I’ve been wanting to do a video all week, but dealing with some separate serious family issues, and on top of that, I’ve got some serious eye issue going on that has been progressively getting worse. Feels like some grit got in there and has just been progressively ripping my eyeball up more and more as the week goes on. It’ll be a miracle if I can get any video of myself this week without looking like Quasimodo.

Hang in with me! I’ll get through it, and I hope y’all will be there on the other side!

Well fellas this is kinda a long thought here but in appalachia you become kin with folk that ain't necessarily related to you. Back in 2001 me and the wife got our first owned residence away from the city I was stuck in since my dad got sick and died.
Anyway a short time later a family moved in with kids around our kids ages. We did alot of fun things together as young couples do. But anyway our boys become best friends.
I had always loved the lot but their youngest who is my oldest best friend told us some time back "congratulations buddy you are gonna be an uncle"
So tonight his girl gone into labor...and I'm honorary "PawPaw". So my thought is...although I know I got less than a few years to figure it out....how do I show the next generation the wonder and beauty of the world as I see it?
